Back on 28 January 2014,
I was invited and participated as a panelist in a workshop on
UN Peace Operations, Rule of Law and Accountability,
jointly organized by The Friedrich Ebert Foundation, the United Nations Association of Germany and the Center for International Peace Operations.
I spoke on the panel on civil claims,
discussing the way that the UN deals with civil claims
in light of International Human Rights Law and the Law of Responsibility.
It was a great opportunity to get some feedback from the representative of
the Department of Peacekeeping Operations at the UN,
as well as academic and practitioners working in the field of the UN Peace Operations.
It was a rare opportunity to get people, who are not only interested in UN Peace Operations, but also on accountability at the same time.
